schools to acquaint colony children with their       The PowerPoint presentation that I
own history.     This unit is designed to run for four prepared could be used when teaching
to five weeks if done daily.  I use a textbook and South Dakota History  as a brief
workbooks for this unit.   I use the book The history and introduction to a very important
History of the Hutterites by John Hofer subculture in our state.

     The majority of the pictures in the presentation are pictures I took for this class in and around local colonies in southeastern South Dakota.     Other pictures I took at Heritage Hall Museum and Archives located on the campus of Freeman Academy in Freeman, SD.   The Archives here has one of the largest if not the largest Hutterite collections in North America.    Thank you to Cleon Graber for taking time from his schedule to let me come to the archives and museum to get the pictures.     The engravings  of the Martyrs are from the book Martyr's Mirror.

     Other credited pictures are from the Church of the Brethren and Menno Links websites.
